Joann Lacey is an educator and an artist. She graduated from the University of
Arkansas-Fayetteville with a terminal degree and from Missouri State University-
Springeld with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with an art major. She is an
instructor of Art and Art History for Drury University and Art History and Art Appreciationfor NorthWest Arkansas Community College.
Joann is a working artist who has a great love of the American landscape and its painters. Among her works include oil paintings of the historic homes of American artists Augustus Saint-Gaudens and Frederic Church. Notable among this series of paintings is “After the Storm” , a portrait of the House of the Seven Gables in Salem, Massachusetts (once home to American author, Nathaniel Hawthorne). This oil painting of the historic structure is marketed in the museum store in Salem. Winner of the 2012 Thomas Hart Benton award for Graphic Arts, Joann is currently working on three awards from the Cityof Bentonville for public mural design.
