Long ago, when I was in grade school, my teacher asked me to do an art project, a Christmas scene, in colored chalk on the blackboard. I was fascinated from that point on 'til today with the magic of color on paper, canvas, wood....and blackboards.

While raising my children, I expressed my creativity through craft projects, cake decorating, quilting and oil painting. Today, my tools include watercolor, acrylic and graphite. I am still drawn to leaves and natural elements for my subject matter. Still life compositions are another favorite choice. My designs use bold colors and graphic shapes, and I often incorporate quotes and scriptures.

I am a strong supporter of the local artist community and have donated paintings to the 5X5 Fundraiser at the Art Center of the Ozarks for the last 7 years. I juried and organized the Bella Vista Decorative Artist exhibit at the Rogers Public Library.

I have studied with nationally known watercolorist, Carol Cooper at the Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville. I have attended several workshops with local and national teachers including Frank Webb, Tom Lynch, Mark Polomchak and others. I have enjoyed being a “lifetime Learner”. I am currently studying Print -Making from L.Eric Smith here at NWACC.
